How to Get to Dhiffushi: Navigating Your Journey to the Island Getaway

Climate 

Dhiffushi island enjoys a tropical climate characterized by warm temperatures and abundant sunshine throughout the year. The archipelago experiences two primary seasons: the dry northeast monsoon (Iruvai) from December to April and the wet southwest monsoon (Hulhangu) from May to November. Visitors can anticipate generally pleasant weather, making Dhiffushi an ideal destination for year-round travel.

 

Visa and Customs Procedures

For most international visitors, a 30-day tourist visa is granted upon arrival in the Maldives. This visa is typically free of charge and allows travelers to explore the country’s islands, including Dhiffushi. 

 

Travelers are also required to complete the IMUGA procedure prior to arrival. The IMUGA system facilitates the online submission of the Traveler Declaration and the issuance of the mandatory Electronic Embarkation/Disembarkation Card of the Maldives.  All international travelers must complete the Traveler Declaration form within 96 hours of arrival/departure.

Upon arrival, visitors are required to clear customs and immigration, where standard procedures for entry into the Maldives will apply.

 

Airport

The main point of entry for international visitors traveling to any destination in the Maldives is Velana International Airport (MLE), located near the capital city of Malé. As the largest and busiest airport in the Maldives, Velana International Airport serves as a gateway to the country’s various island destinations, offering a range of facilities and services for arriving and departing passengers.

 

Airport to Dhiffushi

Upon arrival at Velana International Airport, travelers can easily access Dhiffushi via speedboat transfers. From the airport, a scenic speedboat ride of 40-minutes, provides a convenient and picturesque journey to Dhiffushi.
